Picture-Perfect Plates: The Best Dishes & Best Restaurants (#2270)

2025/11/17 By Greg

Welcome to my fourth annual list of favorite food experiences! It all started back in 2022, when Thanksgiving was approaching and I couldn’t stop thinking about food. That year, I decided to switch things up here at So What Faith and write a post all about picture-perfect plates of food. More specifically, I shared the ten most popular food pictures – based on view counts – that I had shared as part of my restaurant reviews on Google.

In 2023, the annual exploration expanded to feature two lists: (1) top plates and (2) top food related photos that didn’t include food, such as pictures of dining rooms, bars, and menus. Last year, I continued that format.

The Reviews

Over the past twelve months, I’ve written 25 restaurant reviews on Google that included 194 pictures. This brings my all-time count up to 105 reviews with 638 pictures.

To date, those photos have been viewed more than 17.5 million times, including more than 6.5 million times over the last year.

Top 10 Plates – All Time

Here are the top all-time top 10 plates – based on all time views – appear below. Restaurants are limited to one top picture.

Each item is followed by the relative change in rank order alongside the number of additional views since last year’s list (or since being published if created after last year’s list was published).

The item ranking #10 on this year’s list had more than 185,000 views while the item in the final spot last year had just over 138,000 views.

Notably, four of the top ten are new this year.

So What?

I am writing this post just a few days before hosting Friendsgiving and within ten days of Thanksgiving. Food has, does, and likely always will play an important role in celebrating the everyday and special occasions.

I would welcome hearing some of your traditions both for Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving and throughout the year.

Note: The most recent picture to make either list this year was taken just four months ago at Cafe Americana. The oldest pictures are from 2021.
