My “What Next?” (#1827)

2019/09/30 By Greg

Tomorrow I start a a new role as the Associate Executive Director at the Mansfield Mission Center.

In this new role, I’ll be focusing on three Ps:

  • People: designing and implementing a new human resources strategy (we currently have an amazing team of 30+ staff and 500+ volunteers and expect many more people to join us as we live into our bold vision for a brighter future for all people in our community)
  • Programs: refining and implementing a new integrated program model to better serve our neighbors (we know that well-being is multifaceted – our new model focuses on human thriving in three essential and overlapping domains: physical, financial, and relational)
  • Partners: building partnerships to deepen community impact (we know that we will be able to do so much more together than we could ever do on our own)

Additionally, I’ll be taking on some of the responsibilities of the Executive Director. This will allow Carmin MacMillan to devote more of her time to our soon to launch capital campaign, which will fund the construction of a new Mission Center located adjacent to our community clinic.

Growth, Growth, and More Growth

I’ve watched the Mansfield area grow rapidly for many years. I

  • grew up in South Arlington in the 1970s and 1980s
  • purchased my first home in Mansfield in the 1990s

More recently, I’ve been a part of the tremendous growth of the Mansfield Mission Center as it has increased its capacity to serve the community. My roles include

  • Director of Social Enterprise
  • Social Enterprise Consultant
  • Director of Clinic Operations
  • Associate Executive Director

And, I had the distinct privilege of helping the Mission Center grow from one location to three

  • overseeing the construction project and leading the team tasked with opening the new Thrift Store
  • overseeing the transition of the Linda Nix Clinic from Mansfield Cares to the Mansfield Mission Center and working closely with key stakeholders to expand clinic services

So What?

The Mansfield Mission Center is a Christ-centered non-profit that is serious about making God’s kin-dom more real in its community.

  • If you know of someone in our neighborhood who is struggling, please send them our way. Our main number is 817.473.6650.
  • If you are in or will be visiting the greater Dallas – Fort Worth metro area, I’d welcome the opportunity to introduce you to the Mission Center. My Mission Center e-mail is GregS at MansfieldMission (dot) org
