  • (3.0) A Church That Every Community Needs by Duncan Banks, Jeff Brodie, Josh Crain, et. al. (Irresistible Church Network, 2025)

Money, Lies and God

“Those who wish to protect democracy in the US should hold at the front of their minds a simple fact: We – that is, those of us who reject the politics of conquest & division – are in the majority” (p.236).

If you’re looking to gain a deeper understanding of the growing authoritarian impulse in America, Katherine Stewart’s Money, Lies, and God: Inside the Movement to Destroy American Democracy is a must-read. While she revisits some familiar themes and groups, Stewart’s thorough reporting and sharp analysis uncover much more – offering fresh insights into the powerful forces seeking to end our democracy.

Welcome Back

Richard Rohr has appeared on this blog many times over the last fifteen years, including four books he’s written or contributed to

  • The Universal Christ: How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe by Richard Rohr (Convergent Books, 2019) – Rated 4.5
  • Essential Teachings on Love by Richard Rohr (Orbis, 2018) – Rated 4.5
  • Falling Upward: Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life (Jossey-Bass, 2011) – Reviewed in 2011 prior to introducing a rating system
