Today I worshipped at First United Lutheran Church in Dallas. It was my second time to worship with this congregation (the first was last April on the occasion of the celebration of their first 100 years of ministry). And, this was the tenth congregation I’ve worshipped with in 2024 (for the ninth and links to the others check out My Visit to Trinity Presbyterian Church).
Preaching
During my years of parish ministry I had a number of opportunities to preach on Pentecost. Today, however. was my first experience as a guest preacher on Pentecost.
My Pentecost message reflected on how Acts 2 speaks to this congregation’s present situation and invited those in attendance to consider what their own Spirit-led faith journeys might look like.
So What?
I’m grateful for the long-term support First United Lutheran Church has provided White Rock Center of Hope. And, as WRCH’s CEO, I’m grateful for FULC’s renewed commitment to helping make possible WRCH’s work of cultivating hope, including yesterday’s group of volunteers that helped distribute just over 10,000 pounds of food to 190 families in need.
