It’s official: I’m now a Member in Discernment!
This is the next step on my journey toward ordination in the United Church of Christ.
On Saturday, April 1, 2023, following review of the materials I submitted and an interview, the North Texas Association Committee on Ministry affirmed my ongoing discernment by declaring me a Member in Discernment (MiD).
During this meeting they also outlined the next steps I need to complete, which include
- Completing boundary training
- Undergoing a psychological evaluation
- Continuing to engage in ministry in multiple settings within the United Church of Christ as a means of discerning my specific calling
- Writing an ordination paper
- Requesting examination for ordination
So What?
After serving in various ministry roles for nearly all of my adult life, I’ve found my home in the United Church of Christ – a denomination with an origin story and a present commitment to be a united and uniting church.
I continue to welcome your prayerful support as I continue on this journey.
