2023/04/01 By Greg

  • (5.0) Fall in Love with the Problem, Not the Solution: A Handbook for Entrepreneurs by Uri Levine (Matt Holt Books, 2023)

  • (4.0) Myth America: Historians Take on the Biggest Legends About Our Past edited by Kevin M. Kruse and Julian E. Zelizer (Basic Books, 2022)
  • (4.0) The 2-Hour Cocktail Party: How to Build Big Relationships with Small Gatherings by Nick Gray (Lioncrest, 2022)

Living Resistance

Living Resistance is the first book to be rated 5+ in 2023 on So What Faith. This over and above rating is reserved for the best of the best, books that are not simply well written but particularly relevant and actionable. Over the last five years, just over 5% of books have been rated 5+.

Resistance is an essential component of living in a world that isn’t as it should be. Living Resistance offers a holistic perspective of living a life of resistance in the ordinariness of life’s journey through an exploration of four interconnected and essential realms of resistance that make up our everyday lives: personal, communal, ancestral, and integral. Curtice approaches these realms with humility weaving together indigenous wisdom, lived experiences, and her deconstructing Christian faith. Importantly, she emphasizes storytelling and invites readers to better understand and more intentionally guide their own resistance stories.

Note: This is the second book I’ve read by Kaitlin B. Curtice. The first, Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering God (Brazos Press, 2020), greatly impacted me and became part of my top 20 books of 2020.
