Every now and again we all need a reminder to slow down.
We need to be reminded we are more than our actions; we should find our identity as human beings rather than from our human doings.
When things I use every day stop working, I tend to slow down while I seek to I find creative temporary solutions and work toward restoring normalcy. For the last few weeks that opportunity came in the form of an oven that stopped heating appropriately.
Last night the message was presented more directly when the small group I was hosting (for more on the group check out It’s Lent Again) pondered this presentation of Psalm 46:10
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still, and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
Beloved.
Be love.
So What?
A few hours ago, a technician came to my home and installed a new heating element, which restored the oven to normal working order. As he was doing so, I found myself thinking back to the presentation of Psalm 46:10 as shown above.
I encourage you to take some time to experience and embody its message.
