Earlier this week Facebook memories showed me that five years ago that day I had posted the following
Marking a milestone – did you know that I have now written a blog post at least once a day for the last 1,000 days?
So What Faith
In June 2009, I launched this blog with the goal of writing about matters of faith that mattered to me. I assumed that this would be of interest to those in the congregation I served, and perhaps others.
Stats and More Stats
Over the last nine years, I’ve managed to post 1,737 times for an average of 193 posts a year. The graph at right displays the details of my progress with each of the nine years running from June through May.
- More than half of all blog content (57.5% was created during the nearly 3 years of posting on a daily basis)
- Year 9 (June 2017 – May 2018) generated just under 3% of all blog content (2.88%)
Social Evolution
A lot has changed since I established So What Faith, but this blog remains the primary way I share my writing with the world.
I also share my thoughts on other social media channels, often linking to posts from this blog. I joined them in this order:
- Facebook – 2009
- So What Faith – 2009
- Twitter – 2009
- LinkedIn – 2011
- Instagram – 2017
What Next?
I believe more strongly today than I did in June of 2009 that faith matters. The relevance of the Way of Jesus for contributing to the transformation of people, communities, and the world cannot be understated.
So What Faith will continue to be a place I post regularly to share my journey and to think with you about matters of faith that matter.
- What do you think of when you hear the phrase “matters of faith that matter?”
- How often do you walk away from a religious experience (attending worship, reading a blog post, etc.) asking “so what” and “now what” questions?
- What changes would you recommend I consider for this blog? Why?
