I enjoy discovering new blogs. When I encounter people’s listings of their favorite blogs or compilations of the best Christian blogs I tend to click through and browse each site. Most of my discovery consists of becoming familiar with well established blogs. While I hope to continue that exploration, I also want to connect with new bloggers and to encourage you to do the same.
Susan Pigott is Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Hardin-Simmons University. I had the privilege of taking one class from her during a summer term while working on my M.Div. at Logsdon Seminary. She launched a new blog, Scribalishess, on January 1, 2014. Start by checking out these three posts:
- Things That Shouldn’t Happen in Old Testament Survey but Totally Did,
- Really Bad Bible Interpretation: The Alef Tav Sermon, and
- Reading Genesis 1 Literally.
So What?
If we continue to read only the small group of blogs we think of as our favorites, we will miss out on so much – including new bloggers.
- Share a few new bloggers (new to you and/or new to blogging) that you appreciate.
- How do you typically learn about new bloggers who write about matters of faith?
- Will you be among those who regularly read Scribalishess?
