In recent months I have given more attention to the topic of church communications than I have in many years. It is astonishing how poorly most congregations identify and leverage the appropriate tools in support of their communication strategy (even more troubling are those congregations who just “play with” the tools without any formal strategy to offer guidance in their use).
So What?
Paul Steinbrueck, co-founder and CEO of OurChurch.Com, recently offered an introduction to the concept of a church communication strategy in preparation for a talk he will give in a few weeks at the Biola Digital Conference. He has also invited people to take just a few minutes to complete his Communication Strategy Survey, which is designed to help him gather data so he can better understand what is needed for organizations to improve strategic thinking. Will you invest a few minutes to participate? If you do, let me know how taking the survey raised your awareness of a shortcoming in your congregation and/or challenged you to rethink a current practice.
