Review of Today We Are Rich (#0946)

2012/12/17 By Greg

Meet the Author

Tim Sanders is a popular keynote speaker, consultant to Fortune 1000 companies, bestselling author, and CEO of the Los Angeles tech start-up Net Minds. Previously, he was the Chief Solutions Officer at Yahoo, as well as its Leadership Coach.  Sanders has written several previous books, including the New York Times best seller Love is the Killer App (2003).

Book Basics

Tim Sanders masterfully weaves together his own life lessons, the wisdom of his grandmother Billye, and the thinking of an earlier age (especially Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, and Dr. Norman Vincent Peale) into a beautiful tapestry showcasing what it means to live richly by embracing seven timeless principles:

  1. Feed Your Mind Good Stuff,
  2. Move The Conversation Forward,
  3. Exercise Your Gratitude Muscle,
  4. Give To Be Rich,
  5. Prepare Your Self,
  6. Balance Your Confidence, and
  7. Promise Made, Promise Kept.
Written with broad appeal, this book may outsell his previous bestseller and has the potential to become this generation’s equivalent of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (1990).

So What?

Living well requires both a decision to adopt a specific framework and the willingness to live within it on a daily basis.

  • What books have been most helpful to you in your quest to learn to live well?
  • What individuals (mentors, friends, and family) have served as examples and/or offered wisdom you now live by?
  • How does your faith shape your understanding of what it means to live well and/or to live richly each and every day?

Tim Sanders.  Today We Are Rich: Harnessing the Power of Total Confidence (Tyndale House, 2012).  ISBN: 9781414339122.
