From 2003-2011 Paul Brandeis Raushenbush was the Associate Dean of Religious Life and the Chapel at Princeton University. Now he serves as the Senior Religion Editor for the Huffington Post. A few weeks ago he wrote an article focusing on the power and prevalence of the internet as a source of religious information. He concluded that piece with these insightful and challenging words:
Instead of the bombs of negativity, distrust and conflict that can find their way into religion on the Internet, we can provide bridges to unite us in more understanding, compassion and courage. What positive contribution can you make to the Internet today that will enrich all of our lives — on and offline?
So What?
I have written nearly 1,000 posts on this blog about matters of faith that matter with the hope that each will inspire you (and also me) to ponder the possibilities and develop a more informed understanding. Whether writing here or elsewhere online, I endeavor to enrich the lives of those who encounter my words.
What is your response to Raushenbush ‘s question? (What positive contribution can you make to the Internet today that will enrich all of our lives — on and offline?)
