Tis the season for many things . . . atop my list right now are people who simply will not slow down. Over the last 24 hours I have experienced several examples of this behavior, including:
- a very coffee-centered individual who asked if I was in a hurry or not because she really was (with my blessing and that of the couple ahead of me, she skipped to the head of the line at Starbucks)
- people who respond to various forms of communication in a manner that clearly indicates they failed to fully process what had been shared
- driving habits that are more aggressive than usual, including one driver who apparently thought they should drive very quickly in a parking lot and nearly run over several pedestrians
So What?
The shopping season is here with its messages of hurry up and buy more. Thankfully, so too is Advent with its reminder to please slow down and prepare.

In what way or ways do you need to be intentional about slowing down as you continue on the journey toward Christmas?
