“Peace of Bread: Faith, Food and the Future is a compelling and heart-felt look at how young, and not so young, faith leaders are trying to finally make a dent in this country’s 49 million people (17 million of which are children) that are experiencing hunger” (National Council of Churches News Service). Take a minute to watch this video introduction to the documentary.

So What?
This month has been as significant as any for me in raising my awareness of hunger issues and food-related injustice. As a part of the United Church of Christ, I participated in the denomination’s Mission1 project – an 11 day (11.1.11 to 11.11.11) effort to make a real difference (more on that here). That initiative was followed by National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week (11.12 – 11.20). During Thanksgiving week I invite you to learn more about Peace of Bread: Faith, Food and the Future.
- What are you doing this month to get involved with feeding the hungry and addressing food-related injustice? What about your local congregation?
- Will the documentary air in your area? (You can find out via this link.) If not, will you consider contacting your local ABC affiliate to ask that the show be aired?
